Are Tinted Headlights Legal in Minnesota

Red and blue lights are usually associated with and used by emergency vehicles, so using these colors on your headlights is definitely illegal. And it`s the same reason why taillight shades aren`t legal. No matter what state you live in, you can`t have red or blue headlights. Most importantly, you can`t display flashing lights or red or blue indoor lights. So I really want to ring/smoke my headlights and taillights, but I can`t find any information about its legality. I see a lot of information about the windows but I can`t find anything about the lights? Am I stopped all the time? Is it worth it – or even legally?? As mentioned earlier, smoking your headlights is not a good idea. I`ve seen it, but it`s very rare because it`s a sure way to get a ticket. That being said, I tinted the taillights and haven`t had a problem for 3 years. I have LEDs so that they are easy to see in daylight when the brakes come on. If you decide to ring your taillights, make sure your lights are bright enough to see during the day. If not, you`re going to upset people and probably get a ticket for them. I have driven my travels with and through state patrols and residents at least a few times a week over the past year, they don`t care. I`m driving with a speed limit, so it probably helps (northern metro).

I hope this helps. Although colorful headlights are completely illegal, in some states you can get away with lightly tinted headlights. The main thing is that colorful headlights of any kind are illegal. The only colors you can use are white, warm white, and amber. Why would you smoke/dye your headlights and make them harder to see at night? As long as HID headlights are OEM, they are considered legal because the manufacturer takes them into account. For a HID conversion kit to be legal, the new bulb must match the OEM lamp in terms of features such as light intensity and ballast design. Coloring your headlights does not necessarily change the color of the light emitted. It depends on the darkness of your hue and the incidence of visible light transmission (VLT).

Colorful or tinted headlights are a way to really make your car stand out, as long as color and transparency are tastefully chosen. The focus on restricting blue headlights becomes confusing when you look at HID or high-intensity discharge headlights with a bluish tint.
