The FE501S comes with Continental TKC 80 tires. You probably know that these tires have an excellent reputation for their good off-road performance in the adventure world. It`s not the same story here. The Contis can do magic with a 400-pound, but they`re way too road-oriented for a bike like the FE. They offer so little traction in dirt that Husqvarna doesn`t even bother to install rim locks. They are included in the toolkit when you install full Knobies, which you need to do immediately. The performance of the Husky has the same nature of trail biking. That`s perfectly good enough – up to a point. It has a smooth, smooth throttle response with great torque and virtually none of the popping noises and interference typically associated with ultra-stylish, EPA-legal motorcycles.

That in itself is astonishing. The bike is ultra-quiet, which made us expect unpleasant flames and random flat spots. FE does none of that. If you really try, you can definitely stop it, but that`s the nature of any big-caliber four-stroke engine and has nothing to do with skinny mapping. At trail speed, the power output is excellent. I also opted for the Enduro rearview mirror, which uses RAM support. Looks pretty awesome so far. Anyway.

It was a bunch of random/disorganized thoughts for you about where I am/what I`m thinking at this point. That seems to be the way we need to do it. Make/buy tableware, add the necessary components, and install it from there (while trying to use as many factory stuff as possible). I took all the legal street parts of a 2022 FE350s (except blinders, they`re not required in Idaho) and made an FX 350 route legal. Your bike would be even easier and much less money to rebuild because I added other hard parts that have nothing to do with the legal road, my bike had no lights at all, and you don`t need a stator upgrade. They already operate a 200-watt stator.
